Supporting Awareness of Global Program Accreditation

Accreditation.org is an effort of the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). It supports building awareness of the value of worldwide accreditation of academic programs in engineering, engineering technology, and computing.

The site was originally developed a decade ago via a partnership between the IEEE, IBM, and the New York Hall of Science. NJIT is expanding the content of the original site, and developing new academic resources as well as tracking international trends in the area of academic accreditation.

Among the resources we offer is access to the searchable database of accredited programs, which is managed and updated by IEEE. It lists all known engineering/engineering/technology/computing programs which have earned full accreditation status (as opposed to provisional status). The information provided in the database is based on data published publicly by dozens of accrediting organizations around the world.  It currently covers programs in more than 100 countries. Each country’s program listing is refreshed at least once a year. However, this information is provided for general reference only -- we recommend that site users who want to make a decision based on accreditation status check with the appropriate accrediting organization(s) and the specific program to confirm the latest program accreditation status.
