Spotlight: EURACE's Global Perspective

EUR-ACE® Going Global

The ENAEE General Assembly recently approved a document outlining standards and procedures which agencies authorized by ENAEE to award the EUR-ACE® label should follow when performing transnational accreditation, and the accreditation of international double or joint degrees.

The document, signed in September 2020, notes that ENAEE favors the extension of the EUR-ACE system outside the European Higher Education Area. Related to ENAEE Authorized Agencies accrediting outside their own country, the document points out that a newly authorized Agency is restricted for the first two years to perform accreditation reviews with the EUR-ACE® label awarding to its national territory only. It also lays out rules to follow when an ENAEE Authorized Agency is requested to review and accredit a program by a HEI based in another country, in which an ENAEE authorized Agency exists.
