The National Accreditation Council of Guyana was been established by an Act of Parliament Act number 12 of 2004 The National Accreditation Act as the principal body in Guyana for conducting and advising on the accreditation and recognition of educational and training institutions, providers, programs and awards, whether foreign or national and for the promotion of the quality and standards of education and training in Guyana.
They offer several quality assurance services to the Post Secondary and Tertiary Level Institutions. These include registration of institutions within and outside of Guyana which offer courses in Guyana, accreditation of programs, advice on the recognition of foreign institutions of education and training and their awards, and guidance on the equivalency of programs and qualifications in accordance with the framework established for the Caribbean Community.
To ensure that quality education is delivered, the NAC–G ensures that educational programs are appropriately designed and structured, adequately resourced, consistent with the institution’s mission and vision has stated learning outcomes and assessment strategies that are set at an appropriate level for the qualification awarded.
