Accrediting In: Canada

TAC was created in 2013 by Technology Professionals Canada, which represents Canada in the Sydney and Dublin Accords, to serve as the sole accreditation body for the engineering technology and applied science profession in Canada. The TAC accreditation model was developed in direct response to findings made by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) after performing a comprehensive, independent review of technology accreditation practices that existed at the time measured against best practices from other jurisdictions and sectors. TAC accreditation measures an educational institution’s engineering technology or applied science program against the standards in the National Accreditation Components, including the learning outcomes  in the Canadian Technology Accreditation Criteria (CTAC).

On November 15, 2019, the Canadian Technology Accreditation Board (CTAB), which was an original signatory to the Dublin and Sydney Accords  was successfully merged with Technology Accreditation Canada (TAC). Current and past CTAB Accreditations, programs and related services are now provided exclusively by TAC.
