The first-ever ENAEE – European Accreditation Agencies’ Summit took place at the Headquarters of the Order of Engineers in Lisbon, Portugal, in June 2024. Organised by ENAEE in collaboration with the Order of Engineers, the landmark event brought together leaders from ENAEE member agencies for insightful discussions on advancing engineering education, training and professional accreditation. The European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education (ENAEE) was established in 2006 and is responsible for overseeing and managing the European Accreditation of Engineering Programmes (EUR-ACE®) system.
This summit marked a significant milestone in the promotion of quality in engineering education across Europe and beyond. It brought together leaders from many ENAEE member agencies for meaningful discussions on improving engineering education, training and professional accreditation. Representing the UK's Engineering Council was Katy Turff, Deputy CEO and Head of Policy and Standards, who observed that the Summit was “a welcome opportunity to collaborate and learn with colleagues from Europe and beyond who share our commitment to developing globally responsible engineers."
This first ENAEE – European Accreditation Agencies’ Summit marked a significant step forward in the mission to elevate engineering education and ensure that future engineers are well-equipped to meet the demands of modern society.
