Spotlight: ICACIT 2024 Symposium

ICACIT hosts two days of high-level academic exchange on STEM quality and accreditation.

In October 2024, the tenth International Symposium on Accreditation of Engineering and Computing Education was held in Bogotá. The event was jointly hosted by Peru’s accrediting organization, ICACIT, and the University of Los Andes in Colombia, and is widely recognized as the most important annual event in Latin America on issues of educational quality and accreditation in Engineering. It was attended by more than 150 participants representing 30 institutions from Colombia, Paraguay, Indonesia, the United States, Spain, Chile and Peru.

The Symposium is recognized as a platform for collaboration between academia, industry and government to strengthen engineering education through the exchange of good practices and active learning. A range of speakers addressed various topics during the event including how technology is transforming teaching and learning, the value of commitment to research and technological innovation, and the importance of promoting academic excellence throughout the Latin American continent.
